Frequently Asked Questions

I've never done therapy before - what can I expect?

An intake session typically lasts about an hour, and consists of a thorough personal interview and assessment process with the intent of gaining clarity on your personal goals for counseling. From there, I will recommend a treatment plan and together we’ll set up a schedule. Typically counseling sessions are scheduled weekly at the outset and schedule may be adjusted at any time based on specific client needs.

How does telehealth work?

You will be given access to an online platform that contains all intake paperwork and assessments to be completed remotely, and a video portal to join at session time. The platform is HIPAA compliant. You will need to have access to a private space to conduct your session, a good wifi connection, and a device (computer, phone, or tablet) that allows audio and video. Many people find the convenience and comfort of doing sessions from their own home is especially conducive to productive work in therapy.

Do you accept health insurance?

I am an in-network provider for BCBS-TX, Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare. If your insurance is not listed here and you would like to see me out of network, I’m happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance at your request.
